Hello!  My name is Valarie Gill and I have been with Bowie ISD for sixteen years.  I have been in the English department at the middle school for fourteen years and for the last two years I have taught ELAR here at Bowie Intermediate.  This will be my first year as a dyslexia teacher.  I have always had a passion for reading, and I love teaching students to be fluent readers.

I am a graduate of Texas Woman's University with honors in Education with a specialization in Reading. I am currently completing my Take Flight Training through Scottish Rite where I will be a CALP(certified academic language practitioner) upon completion. 

I have been married to my husband Darren for 29 years.  We have four daughters Ashley, Lily, Aubrey, and Lauren and two granddaughters.  We love family dinners, camping, and I love working in my yard.
