Howdy, this is my sixth year at Bowie High School. I will be teaching Spanish 1 and coaching Football, Girls Assistant Basketball and Head Girls Track & Field. I just wanted to provide you all with a little information about myself.

I grew up in a town called Wisconsin Dells, which is about the same size as Bowie. However, during the summer months the population grows to the 100,000's. It is the third largest tourist town in the United States. I graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School in 1983. While attending college I was a general manager at Noah's Ark Water Park, which is the largest water park in America.

I Received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Sociology along with a Certificate in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin. I was fortunate enough to be a member of the student government, play football and run track and field, while attending college. I then served in the U.S. Navy as a Cryptologic Technician Interpretive (Spanish). I was stationed in Monterey, California at the Defense Language Institute, Foreign Language Center where I received my certification as a Spanish Linguist. Next I was stationed at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Texas, where I met and married my wife Melissa. Melissa is a Band Director, Choir Director and Music Teacher. (She is currently the Choir Director, and Assistant Band Director at Bowie Jr. High and High School.) I was also stationed in Key West, Florida and Galleta Island, Panama. I received my Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership Administration from Troy State University.

I have been a principal, teacher and coach in Texas for the past 27 years from Kindergarten through High School levels. I have taught a wide variety of subjects including: Athletics, Economics, Government, Health, Physical Education, Psychology, Spanish 1, 2 & 3, Sociology, U.S. History, World Geography, and Yearbook. I have coached various sports as an assistant or head coach including: Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Power Lifting, and Track & Field. I have also sponsored numerous activities such as Key Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, UIL Social Studies, Lincoln Douglas Debate, and Cross Examination Debate. I feel that I have a positive impact on all of the students I have encountered over the years. I take great stock in the education of children, not only as an educator, but also as a father. I have two daughters. Joyana was a Commander in the Corps of Cadets, and graduated from Texas A&M in 2018. She is a Captain in the U.S. Army Airborne as a Medical Officer, and is stationed at Fort Bragg North Carolina. Abby graduated from Bowie High School in 2019. She graduated Angelo State University in 2022, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science Physiology with a minor in English, and Coaching. She is now a Graduate Assistant at Angelo State, and running Track and Field as a pentathlete and heptathalete. She is working on her Masters in Athletic Administration Recreation Management. I hope to have a great impact on the students at Bowie High School, and look forward to meeting you.
