Bowie Junior High Counselor

TELPAS is an assessment program for students in Texas public schools who are learning the English language. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) developed TELPAS to meet state and federal testing requirements. Texas assesses English language learners (ELLs) annually in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students learning the English language begin participating in TELPAS in kindergarten and stop participating when their language proficiency assessment committee (LPAC) determines that they are proficient in the English language.

Hello all and welcome to the BJH counselor page.  I am blessed to be a Bowie JH cottontail again for the third year.  I am a graduate of the University of North Texas and Texas Woman's University.  I am entering my ninth year as a school counselor.   I am married to Todd and we have 2 children, Cyler and Carson.  Cyler is a graduate of Tarleton State University and Texas Tech University.  He currently resides in Dallas and has a career in medical sales.  Carson is an 8th grader here at BJH.  She plays volleyball, basketball, and participates in track.  My husband, Todd, is a 1984 graduate of Bowie HS.  He is a girls coach and teacher in another district.  In my free time, I love to read, garden, and be outdoors.  I love summer time and go to the lake as much as I can.  My weaknesses are dark chocolate, pizza, and online shopping.
