Proudly introducing, Mrs. Wheeler,
With over 20 years of experience in education, I am truly honored to step into the role of Principal at Bowie Elementary School. My family and I have proudly been part of Texas ISD schools since 2006, and I’m thrilled to continue this journey of service and leadership in the Bowie ISD community.
I graduated from Texas A&M-Commerce with a Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Secondary Mathematics. I have taught every grade level from 5th grade to 12th grade. I obtained my Master’s in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas-Arlington. I have been an Elementary Assistant Principal for the past 6 years. I also received my Superintendent Certification from West Texas A & M University.
Education is not just my profession—it’s a family passion. My husband, Coach Wheeler, serves as the Elementary PE teacher, Offensive Coordinator for football, and Head Baseball Coach at Muenster ISD. Our oldest son, Jonathan Wheeler, graduated from Muenster High School in 2021 and recently played collegiate baseball at Dallas County College – Eastfield. He’s now completing his Bachelor’s in Nursing at the University of Texas at Tyler. Our youngest, Jake Wheeler, will be a senior this fall at Muenster High School and plans to go to NCTC to complete his Fireman/Paramedic Certificate.
In my spare time, when I am not at some type of sporting event, I love to go thrift shopping and read. I also enjoy fishing. My family and I love to go skiing during the winter time, as well as venturing out to a beach during the summer time. I grew up in a very small farm town in Southwest Oklahoma so anything outdoors is right up my alley!
I look forward to working alongside our dedicated staff, students, and families to build on a legacy of excellence, growth, and community spirit. Here’s to an amazing year ahead at Bowie Elementary!
