OF THE NATIONAL SCHOOL LUNCH PROGRAM, WHERE STUDENTS CAN EAT FOR FREE!
We need every household to please fill out a Socioeconomic Information Form to help the district keep this program going for our community.
The application helps our district in many ways, as you can see below, and is more than just free and reduced lunches.

Bowie ISD Honored with Statewide “Cream of the Crop” Award by Texas Department of Agriculture
Bowie Independent School District has been recognized as a top performer in the Texas Department of Agriculture’s 2024 Farm Fresh Challenge, earning the prestigious “Cream of the Crop” award for its outstanding use of local food products and producers in school nutrition programs.
Out of 1,207 school districts across the state, only 73 received this elite recognition—placing Bowie ISD in the Top 6% of Child Nutrition (CN) Programs in Texas.
Even more impressively, Bowie ISD is one of only three districts in Region 9 to earn this distinction, highlighting its commitment to supporting Texas agriculture and providing students with fresh, nutritious meals sourced directly from local farms.

Bowie ISD Campuses Earn USDA HealthierUS School Challenge – Smarter Lunchroom Bronze Award
We are proud to announce that all Bowie ISD campuses have been recognized as USDA HealthierUS School Challenge – Smarter Lunchroom Bronze Award recipients!
This is a highly distinguished honor. Out of 98,817 campuses across the United States, only 3,010 have received the Bronze Award — placing Bowie ISD among the Top 3% of performing schools in the nation when it comes to promoting healthier school environments.
In the State of Texas, just 487 out of 9,317 schools have earned this recognition, highlighting Bowie ISD’s commitment to student health, nutrition, and wellness.
We commend our staff, students, and nutrition teams for their dedication to creating a healthier future for our community!

Now entering its 19th season, NFL PLAY 60 is the National Football League’s premier youth health and wellness initiative. The program empowers millions of children across the country to engage in at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day, promoting lifelong habits that support a healthy lifestyle.
Through a wide range of programs, partnerships, and resources, NFL PLAY 60 continues to be a driving force in the movement to get kids moving—on the field, in schools, and in their communities.
