BISD School Board Adopts 2026-2027 Instructional Calendar!
After gathering input from our Calendar Committee, surveying parents and staff, and working closely with administration and school board members, the BISD Board of Trustees has officially adopted the 2026-2027 Instructional Calendar!
What’s Staying the Same?
Monday-Thursday school week remains for consistency
Minimal changes to keep a familiar routine
Key Adjustments:
Additional 2,100 minutes are required by the state due to the inability to secure a professional development waiver for the 25-26 school year
Students will attend NOT Monday & Tuesday before Thanksgiving per the request of the survey
Traditional Homecoming festivities will occur with a ½ day of school on September 18th
Majority of stakeholders preferred school on Monday holidays to maintain Friday flexibility
Bad weather day will be April 16th (if needed)
