We are quickly approaching the 24-25 school year, and with all the excitement comes lots of events, new information, and the need for a calendar to keep up with it all. Bowie ISD provides a digital monthly newsletter for all stakeholders to view. It is always a great day when we are able to acknowledge our teacher of the years teachers at the Region 9 Educator Recognition Ceremony. Jill Hughes and Judy Kirk are outstanding educators and today they were recognized amongst the best teachers in region. Thank you ladies for making us proud. #bowiebuilt

Bowie ISD would like to introduce the new staff joining our team for the 24-25 school year. Each new staff member was announced in the back to school kick-off and received a #bowiebuilt shirt to proudly wear. Welcome to our Bowie Family!

Today was the kickoff of the 24-25 school year for staff. All BISD staff met at Bowie Junior High for a wonderful breakfast cooked by our food service department. Then we all met in our beautiful auditorium to recognize new staff, thank our custodial and maintenance for doing such a great job getting our facilities ready for the new year and listen to Mr. Enlow's speech. His welcome back speech encouraged the staff, set the standards for our district, and acknowledged how important our jobs are in this community. It is going to be a great year. #bowiebuilt

BISD welcomes all new and returning substitutes for the 24-25 school year. If you desire to become a substitute in our district, please apply through the Region 9 website and attend a BISD New Substitute Training. Substitute information can be found on the Bowie ISD website at this link - https://www.bowieisd.net/page/substitute-teachers If you are a returning substitute, you will receive an email with a training video to watch and a form to complete. Returning substitutes do not need to attend face-to-face training. We can not thank our returning substitutes enough for their service and look forward to adding additional substitutes this year. #bowiebuilt

Remember the Back to School Fair this Saturday at 9:00 a.m. in the BHS Cafeteria/Gym! We are still taking donations and need volunteers. Please contact Tabatha Jones at tabatha.jones@bowieisd.net if you can help out in any way.

Please see the chart below for Bowie ISD campus school times. We have included when the front doors will open to receive students and offer breakfast. The start time is when students should be in their homeroom/first-period class to avoid being counted as tardy. We look forward to our students returning for the 24-25 school year.

Bowie ISD online registration for returning students opens today! You should have received an email with information about the Ascender Parent Portal with your username. If you do not remember your password, click forgot my password and reset it. On the bowieisd.net website, you can click on families in the top right-hand corner, and the link for the Ascender Parent Portal will be available. Our campus registrars will gladly help you starting July 15th if you need assistance. Please call your child's respective school. We are excited to be starting the 24-25 school year.

BISD needs additional bus drivers for the 24-25 school year. The BISD board just approved a pay increase for our bus route drivers. If you have any questions, you can call Cory Hickey at 940-689-2949.

As you prepare for the 24-25 school year, please see the school supply list for each grade level, PreK-8th grade. If your child will attend high school, they will receive specific lists at Meet the Teacher, which will be on Monday, August 5th. Also, all BISD students who need assistance with supplies and services are encouraged to attend the Back to School Fair on July 20, 2024.

We have important dates to share with you as we prepare for the registration and return of our students for the 2024-2025 school year. Please mark your calendars.

It is always a great day when we can recognize the high accomplishments of our students. The following students and teams performed at the state level and were presented to the school board. Bowie ISD is very proud of these individuals' dedication, character, and success. We had representatives from golf, track, band, and choir. Congratulations! #bowiebuilt
