Dual Credit Students — College Classes Begin Monday, August 24!
As we begin a new semester, Bowie High School wants to remind our students taking dual credit courses through NCTC that success starts with strong habits from day one.
✅ Check Canvas and your email daily
✅ Stay ahead of assignments and deadlines
✅ Attend class and be on time
✅ Communicate early with your instructors
✅ Ask for help when you need it
✅ Balance school, activities, and study time
These are 'college courses with college expectations', but you have a team at Bowie HS cheering you on and ready to help.
We are proud of our Jackrabbits who are taking advantage of the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school. Start strong on Monday and have a great semester!

👏 Way to go, Juniors! You led the campus this week with 96.83% attendance and earned Hats/PJs Day on Monday!

As we prepare for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year, now is the perfect time to review your child’s immunization records.
Texas State Law requires all students to have updated vaccination records or a valid exemption on file before the first day of school.
✔️ If your child is fully vaccinated or has a current exemption (expires every two years) already on file with the school nurse — No action is needed!
❗ If your child needs vaccinations or you have not submitted updated records, we encourage you to take care of this over the summer to avoid any delays in enrollment.

After gathering input from our Calendar Committee, surveying parents and staff, and working closely with administration, the BISD Board of Trustees has officially adopted the 2026–2027 Instructional Calendar! ✅
🔹 What’s Staying the Same?
✔️ Monday–Thursday school week remains for consistency
✔️ Minimal changes to maintain a familiar routine for students and staff
🔹 Key Adjustments:
🍂 A full week off for Thanksgiving has been restored based on Calendar Committee feedback
🏈 Traditional Homecoming festivities will include a ½ day of school on September 18
⛈️ Bad weather days are scheduled for April 16, with one additional day banked through excess minutes beyond the required 75,600 instructional minutes
Thank you to everyone who provided feedback. Your input helps us shape the best possible schedule for our students and staff. 📚✨ #Bowiebuilt
