Here are two important images you'll want to keep handy:
🗓️ The 2025–2026 Instructional Calendar – Stay informed about school days, holidays, breaks, and grade reporting periods.
⏰ Campus Start/Stop Times – Find out when your campus opens and the exact time classes begin and end.
💡 Helpful Tip: Buildings open before the first bell — arriving early means your student can enjoy a free, balanced breakfast to start the day strong!
🚨 Reminder: Students will be marked tardy if they are not in class when the first bell rings. Please plan accordingly. #BowieBuilt

Miss Morrison will be joining Bowie Elementary School as a Kindergarten teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.
We had a few minutes to sit down and talk with Miss Morrison and here is what we learned about our new family member.
Where did you attend college and what degrees and/or certificates do you hold? I attended college at Stephen F. Austin State University. My degree is in Education and I hold my EC-6 Content Area with STR Teaching certificate.
How long have you been in education? This will be my first year in education.
Tell us a little about your previous experience. My previous experience comes from observations and my time as a student teacher. Both of these gave me great insight into what teaching looks like and how to get your classroom functioning properly. I learned to plan efficiently, how to make adjustments that worked for everyone, and to be flexible when things change in the moment.
What would you like to share about your family? I come from a small family. I have 1 older sister, 1 older brother, and 1 younger brother. My older sister lives in California, she's in the Airforce and has 2 daughters. My older brother lives in New Jersey. My little brother lives in Nocona. My mom has been working in the education system for 16 years. She's currently working at the middle school in Nocona. My dad works for United Rentals, he's been there for over 20 years now.
Would you like to share a fun fact? I don't really have any fun facts. If I had to share one, I would say my fun fact is I've been to New York City 6 times. I love New York City.
What do you enjoy outside of work? I enjoy traveling. I go on day trips all around Texas. I also enjoy hiking. I bring my dog with me and we'll hike for hours.
Can you tell us why you CHOSE BOWIE? I chose Bowie ISD because it felt like home. When I graduated college, I wanted to teach in a school that felt like home and felt like a family. I always imagined myself teaching in a school like that. Bowie ISD fits that description perfectly, everyone there is kind and so welcoming.
Again, WELCOME HOME MISS MORRISON!! We are excited to have you join us at BOWIE ISD!!

As we prepare for a great school year, we encourage all parents and students to review the Bowie ISD Student Handbook, along with the campus-specific student handbook addendums, now available online.
This important guide outlines key district policies, parental rights, and expectations to help ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all.
The handbook includes:
🔹 Section One: Parental Rights (based on state and federal law)
🔹 Section Two: Other Important Information for Parents and Students (organized A–Z)
📌 Campus Handbook Addendums are also included on the same page.
Please remember, the handbook is a general guide and does not replace official BISD policy or the Student Code of Conduct.
