Dyslexia is a common learning difference that affects reading, writing, and spelling. It’s important to understand that dyslexia is not related to intelligence; many individuals with dyslexia are highly creative and capable thinkers.

📚 What is Dyslexia?
Dyslexia is a neurological condition that makes it challenging to decode written language.

💡 Signs of Dyslexia:
Difficulty reading aloud
Trouble with spelling
Challenges in organizing written work

🤝 How to Support:
Encourage open conversations about learning differences.
Offer patience and understanding.
Explore tailored learning strategies and resources.

The following links provide resources for more information. If you need more information, you can contact your child's teacher or the Dyslexia Specialist on each Bowie ISD campus.

BES Family! We are off to a good start with the current fundraiser! Register your child and sell one item to receive the Bluey inspired dino lanyard and key chain. Sell more for more prizes! We want all students to get all of the collectables! AND earn a pizza party and ride to the park on the super cool Big Kahuna party bus!!!

We had some really great questions today which brought up some really great points for clarification.
1. Siblings that are teamed up will each get credit for all items sold/tickets earned. Please fill out the tickets for the same number of items for each child.
2. Combine all orders not placed online on to one order form per family. Let you child's teacher know if you need additional forms.

Please call the BES office for any questions (940) 689-2950.

Texas law requires school districts to distribute information to parents and guardians about the safe storage of firearms. The attached information will help you learn about options for and how to talk to your child and others about the safe storage of firearms.

Safe gun storage protects our kids, prevents accidents, and keeps our guns out of the hands of criminals. Learn how to safely store firearms by using our Safe Gun Storage checklist and these other resources to talk about gun storage.

Thank you Bowie Lion's Club for coming every year to perform eye screenings! You have identified several potential problems over the years that some of our kiddos would have gone much longer dealing with otherwise. We appreciate the time that you take to perform this free service!

Important information.
Bowie Elementary's Annual Instrument Parade will be held on September 19, 2025. The parade will begin at 9:15am and will be followed by a mini pep rally compliments of BHS! Please join us for the fun! For safety purposes, we kindly ask that you keep the following in mind:
1. Please remain in the designated location for spectators, anywhere outside of the coned off area. Do NOT enter the student area. There will be plenty of opportunity for photos.
2. Do NOT summon your student to deviate from their classes. They must remain in line and accounted for.
3. BHS students will need to move on to the next campus ASAP after the pep rally so please give them a moment to load and move the buses through the parking lot before you leave. This will really be helpful to keep them on schedule.
4. Please plan for your student to finish the school day. Even though it is early release (11:55am), it is very overwhelming to the office when many students are checked out all at once. Also, due to the abbreviated schedule, it may be more difficult to locate the student as they will not be in their regularly scheduled location.
Please see attached maps for a visual of the parking lot layout.
We appreciate everyone's cooperation! Can't wait to see you there!
