Our schools and community have been hit hard, and many are under the weather—whether it’s a virus, the flu, or just a seasonal bug. As below-freezing temperatures and precipitation are forecasted, Bowie ISD wants to remind families to stay updated on any weather-related announcements. With winter weather in the forecast, Bowie ISD administrators are already closely monitoring conditions, communicating with surrounding districts, and listening to National Weather Service updates to make the best decision possible regarding school schedules. In the event of delays, cancellations, or closures, Bowie ISD will use the district's mass communication system, social media, and local media outlets to communicate. It is important that your email and phone numbers are up to date in the Ascender system. If you have had a change in your email or phone number from what is listed in Ascender, please contact the front office of your child's school to get that information updated. "When will you know?" We understand the importance of providing advance notice to allow families to make alternate arrangements. When changes to the school schedule are necessary, we strive to notify staff and families as quickly as possible through social media and our mass communication system. Bowie ISD Closure Announcement: Thursday, January 9, 2025 After consulting with surrounding districts and participating in the latest briefing from the National Weather Service, Bowie ISD will be closed on Thursday, January 9, 2025. The forecasted winter precipitation is expected to impact travel across the district. Due to the potential risks and uncertainties regarding road conditions, the district has made the decision to close in the interest of student and staff safety. #Bowiebuilt #Staywarm #safety

Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Bowie ISD staff, we proudly donated a total of $2,045 to support God's Table and Bowie Mission. Each organization received a check for $1,022.50. Bowie ISD deeply appreciates the impactful work these organizations do for the Bowie community and is honored to contribute to their efforts in assisting local families.
