Dear BJH Parent/Guardian,
At Bowie Junior High, we are committed to supporting every student's academic success as they prepare for the upcoming 2026 STAAR assessments. To provide additional support, we have scheduled several tutorial sessions designed to reinforce key concepts and build student confidence.
We want to clearly emphasize that these tutorial sessions are completely OPTIONAL. While we strongly encourage participation to help students feel well-prepared, attendance is not mandatory. Furthermore, all students are invited and encouraged to attend, regardless of their performance or specific scores on the recent mock assessments. We believe every student can benefit from these sessions as they prepare for the final tests.
The tutorial schedule for Reading Language Arts (RLA) and Math is open to all grade levels:
RLA STAAR Tutorials: April 3 from 8:00 – 12:00.
Math STAAR Tutorials: April 17 from 8:00 – 12:00.
Please note the only limitation on our schedule: the Science and Social Studies tutorials are reserved for 8th-grade students.
8th Grade Science & Social Studies Tutorials: April 10 from 8:00 – 10:00.
For your planning purposes, the 2026 STAAR testing dates are as follows:
RLA: April 8 (All grades)
Science: April 14 (8th grade)
Social Studies: April 16 (8th grade)
Math: April 22 (All grades)
We appreciate your partnership in helping our students succeed. If you have any questions regarding these optional sessions, please feel free to reach out. If you missed the STAAR Zoom meeting on March 26 at noon, send me an email, and I will happily answer any questions that you or your child may have. Please join us for two wonderful opportunities next Thursday, March 26. Our art students will have the chance to exhibit their projects from the year, while our 2026-27 cheerleading team feeds you! Feed your family and take in the art all in one stop at the BJH Cafeteria. The event begins at 5:30.

Dear BJH Parents,

Spring Individual Pictures will be taken at Bowie Junior High on Wednesday, March 18th. These pictures will be taken on a proof basis; no money is needed on picture day. (Please be aware that no Retakes will be made on Spring Pictures.)

A Proof Flyer will be sent home approximately two weeks after picture day, including your child’s spring image and ordering instructions. Prints can be ordered by visiting our website and selecting your school’s spring gallery page at www.cjpphoto.com. You will use the online access code provided on your child’s proof flyer to access this and all galleries. Prints will be delivered to the school free of charge.
