📢 BISD School Board Adopts 2025-2026 Instructional Calendar! 📢
After gathering input from our Calendar Committee, surveying parents and staff, and working closely with administration and school board members, the BISD Board of Trustees has officially adopted the 2025-2026 Instructional Calendar! ✅
🔹 What’s Staying the Same?
✔️ Monday-Thursday school week remains for consistency
✔️ Minimal changes to keep a familiar routine
🔹 Key Adjustments:
📅 Additional 2,100 minutes are required by the state due to the inability to secure a professional development waiver for the 25-26 school year
🍂 Students will attend Monday & Tuesday before Thanksgiving per the request of the survey🏈 Traditional Homecoming festivities will occur with a ½ day of school on September 19th
🇺🇸 Majority of stakeholders preferred school on Monday holidays to maintain Friday flexibility
⛈️ Bad weather days are scheduled for April 24th and May 15th if needed

BES will open our doors at 9:30 tomorrow. Please do not let your child out of the car until 9:30 when the adults come out for duty. We want everyone to be safe and warm. Classes will begin at 10:00 am. Give yourself extra time for travel. Buses will run two hours later than normal.
Bowie ISD will begin at 10:00 am on Wednesday, February 19th. Although most roads are clear, there are some slick “black ice” spots throughout the entire district. Parking lots and sidewalks have some slick spots as well. This delay will allow buses, staff, and students to have ample time to cautiously arrive at school. Stay warm!
This week BISD is celebrating Random Acts of Kindness! Dress up with us as a fun way to remind us all that we should look for ways to be kind and treat one another with love and respect.
Spread the word! Bowie Elementary is in need of kids pants & underwear (specifically) donations of all sizes.
Also, if we have come to the rescue and loaned out clothing please remember to wash & return!
Lastly, its a great idea to send a change of clothes with you child if they are at risk of accidents.

Through all of the sicknesses and absences (teachers and kiddos) Office Magers still managed to fit in a few Lunch Bunch sessions. We are all hopefully on the mend and will be back on track for three days a week!
Head Start and Pre-K Parents, you are welcome and encouraged to join our February parent meeting. It will be held on February 18 at 4:00pm at the elementary campus. We will have a topic of discussion, fun activities with your child, and lots of giveaways! See you there!
